Well, I finished Gundam 00 Season 1 today, and to be honest I'm impressed by it. I liked the end arc best, it had all sorts of insane things happening and some genuinely sad character deaths insofar as they could be (although Setsuna's cry of anguish at the end of a certain episode *LOCKON LOCKON* was utterly hilarious.)

I thought Ali was a fun villain to see actually succeed, and the Alvatore was a pretty unique mechanical design with clear cues from previous Gundam mecha (Elmeth, Val Varo, Bigro, Zakrello, the list goes on) but with its own gimmicks and design. The GN-X is one of the best mech designs in the franchise, too.

However, it wasn't perfect. It may have been the dub, but the dialogue was kinda awkward at times. The LOL CLIFFHANGER END sets up a potential season 2 that would be awesome, but I hear it's not.

All that said, it was an enjoyable sci-fi serial with some interesting mech designs, characters you could get interested in the fates of and some well-choreographed and exciting action.
