HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED

Tue May 5, 2009, 5:13 AM
I'm considering buying a THREE SIXTY in the near future (probably next month) mostly for Armored Core, Bioshock 2 and sundry other games.

Firstly, if anyone can tell me why it's a good idea to buy the Arcade edition given it has no hard drive, I'd appreciate it - it's astoundingly cheap, and if I can then buy additional storage space as I need it then that's what I'll get.

But now to the main attraction. In preparation for possibly FINISHING THE FIGHT (only on XBOX), I bought the PC version of Halo.

It's a damned solid FPS, to be honest. The lack of PC co-op sucks hard, though - I can imagine playing Legendary with a pal or two would be really fun (especially on Reunion Tour or something, one guy gunning, you driving and a NPC in the passenger seat) and as it is the vehicle levels are a bit lonely (much like C&C Renegade.)

In fact, I get a strong Renegade vibe off Halo. It's the combination of vehicles, the sci-fi look and the large open levels.

The graphics are quite impressive for when it came out, and it's FUN. And that's all I look for in a game.

I just want to find some people to play multiplayer with, so I can test out my custom game mode, ROBOTECHNOLOGY.

You have to race your tank across the map, and have one life. Die, and it's GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER. There's probably more advantage to NOT be in the tank, though, when you get infinite grenades - but equally you have no shields.

I'm emailing you now, but I've been a silly idiot and got banned from /tg/ somehow until Sunday.

Probably for raging too hard at the idiocy of people.

It seems the moderation is schizophrenic.

At times, obvious inflammatory threads run rampant, and then at others random people get hammered for stuff far less terrible than what's considered acceptable normally.
